इदं पवित्रं परमीशचेष्टितं
यशस्यमायुष्यमघौघमर्षणम् ।
यो नित्यदाकर्ण्य नरोऽनुकीर्तयेट्
द्धुनोत्यघं कौरव भक्तिभावतः ॥६१॥

idaá¹ pavitraá¹ param īśa-ceṣṭitaá¹
yaÅ›asyam Äyuá¹£yam aghaugha-mará¹£aṇam
yo nityadÄkarṇya naro 'nukÄ«rtayed
dhunoty aghaá¹ kaurava bhakti-bhÄvataḥ

 idam - this; pavitram - pure; param - supreme; Ä«Å›a-ceṣṭitam - pastime of the Supreme Lord; yaÅ›asyam - fame; Äyuá¹£yam - long duration of life; agha-ogha-mará¹£aṇam - destroying sins; yaḥ - who; nityadÄ - always; Äkarṇya - after hearing; naraḥ - a person; anukÄ«rtayet - should narrate; dhunoti - clears off; agham - material contamination; kaurava - O descendant of Kuru; bhakti-bhÄvataḥ - with faith and devotion.


Text

The great sage Maitreya concluded: If one hears and again narrates, with faith and devotion, this story of the Dakṣa yajña as it was conducted by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Viṣṇu, then certainly one is cleared of all contamination of material existence, O son of Kuru.
