तौ तु गीर्वाणऋषभौ दुस्तराद्धरिलोकतः ।
हतश्रियौ ब्रह्मशापादभूतां विगतस्मयौ ॥३३॥

tau tu gÄ«rvÄṇa-ṛṣabhau
dustarÄd dhari-lokataḥ
hata-Å›riyau brahma-Å›ÄpÄd
abhÅ«tÄá¹ vigata-smayau

 tau - those two gatekeepers; tu - but; gÄ«rvÄṇa-ṛṣabhau - the best of the demigods; dustarÄt - unable to be avoided; hari-lokataḥ - from Vaikuṇṭha, the abode of Lord Hari; hata-Å›riyau - diminished in beauty and luster; brahma-Å›ÄpÄt - from the curse of a brÄhmaṇa; abhÅ«tÄm - became; vigata-smayau - morose.

But those two gatekeepers, the best of the demigods, their beauty and luster diminished by the curse of the brÄhmaṇas, became morose and fell from Vaikuṇṭha, the abode of the Supreme Lord.
