षोडश्युक्थौ पूर्ववक्त्रात्पुरीष्यग्निष्टुतावथ ।
आप्तोर्यामातिरात्रौ च वाजपेयं सगोसवम् ॥४०॥

purÄ«á¹£y-agniṣṭutÄv atha
ÄptoryÄmÄtirÄtrau ca
vÄjapeyaá¹ sagosavam

 á¹£oá¸aśī-ukthau - types of sacrifice; pÅ«rva-vaktrÄt - from the eastern mouth; purÄ«á¹£i-agniṣṭutau - types of sacrifice; atha - then; ÄptoryÄma-atirÄtrau - types of sacrifice; ca - and; vÄjapeyam - type of sacrifice; sa-gosavam - type of sacrifice.

All the different varieties of fire sacrifices [á¹£oá¸aśī, uktha, purÄ«á¹£i, agniṣṭoma, ÄptoryÄma, atirÄtra, vÄjapeya and gosava] became manifested from the eastern mouth of BrahmÄ.
