Å›Äkalyas tat-sutaḥ svÄá¹ tu
pañcadhÄ vyasya saá¹hitÄm
vÄtsya-mudgala-Å›ÄlÄ«ya-
gokhalya-Å›iÅ›ireá¹£v adhÄt

 Å›Äkalyaḥ - ÅšÄkalya; tat-sutaḥ - the son of MÄṇá¸Å«keya; svÄm - his own; tu - and; pañcadhÄ - in five parts; vyasya - dividing; saá¹hitÄm - the collection; vÄtsya-mudgala-Å›ÄlÄ«ya - to VÄtsya, Mudgala and ÅšÄlÄ«ya; gokhalya-Å›iÅ›ireá¹£u - and to Gokhalya and ÅšiÅ›ira; adhÄt - gave.

The son of MÄṇá¸Å«keya, named ÅšÄkalya, divided his own collection into five, entrusting one subdivision each to VÄtsya, Mudgala, ÅšÄlÄ«ya, Gokhalya and ÅšiÅ›ira.
