sa vai mahyaá¹ mahÄ-rÄja
bhagavÄn bÄdarÄyaṇaḥ
imÄá¹ bhÄgavatÄ«á¹ prÄ«taḥ
saá¹hitÄá¹ veda-sammitÄm

 saḥ - he; vai - indeed; mahyam - to me, Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ«; mahÄrÄja - O King ParÄ«ká¹£it; bhagavÄn - the powerful incarnation of the Supreme Lord; bÄdarÄyaṇaḥ - ÅšrÄ«la VyÄsadeva; imÄm - this; bhÄgavatÄ«m - BhÄgavata scripture; prÄ«taḥ - being satisfied; saá¹hitÄm - the anthology; veda-sammitÄm - equal in status to the four Vedas.

My dear MahÄrÄja ParÄ«ká¹£it, that great personality ÅšrÄ«la VyÄsadeva taught me this same scripture, ÅšrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam, which is equal in stature to the four Vedas.
