tÄs tÄ jñeyÄ yuge yuge
iti - thus (in the cantos of this ÅšrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam); eá¹£aḥ - this; mÄnavaḥ - descending from Vaivasvata Manu; vamÅ›aḥ - the dynasty; yathÄ - as; saá¹…khyÄyate - it is enumerated; bhuvi - upon the earth; tathÄ - in the same way; viá¹ - of the vaiÅ›yas; śūdra - śūdras; viprÄṇÄm - and brÄhmaṇas; tÄḥ tÄḥ - the situations of each; jñeyÄḥ - are to be understood; yuge yuge - in each age.
Just as the dynasty of kings includes exalted and insignificant, virtuous and wicked monarchs, varieties of human character are found in the intellectual, commercial and laboring orders of society.
