sa eka-cchatrÄá¹ pá¹›thivÄ«m
anullaá¹…ghita-Å›Äsanaḥ

dvitÄ«ya iva bhÄrgavaḥ

 saḥ - he (Nanda); eka-chatrÄm - under a single leadership; pá¹›thivÄ«m - the entire earth; anullaá¹…ghita - undefied; Å›Äsanaḥ - his rulership; Å›Äsiá¹£yati - he will have sovereignty over; mahÄpadmaḥ - the lord of MahÄpadma; dvitÄ«yaḥ - a second; iva - as if; bhÄrgavaḥ - ParaÅ›urÄma.


Text

That lord of MahÄpadma, King Nanda, will rule over the entire earth just like a second ParaÅ›urÄma, and no one will challenge his authority.

Purport

In the eighth verse of this chapter it was mentioned that King Nanda would destroy the remnants of the ká¹£atriya order. Therefore he is here compared to Lord ParaÅ›urÄma, who annihilated the ká¹£atriya class twenty-one times in a previous age.
