Å›rÄ«-bhagavÄn uvÄca - the Supreme Personality of Godhead said; iti - thus; uktvÄ - having spoken; saḥ - he; yadum - to King Yadu; vipraḥ - the brÄhmaṇa; tam - to the King; Ämantrya - bidding farewell; gabhÄ«ra - extremely deep; dhīḥ - intelligence; vanditaḥ - being offered obeisances; su-arcitaḥ - being properly worshiped; rÄjÃ±Ä - by the King; yayau - he went; prÄ«taḥ - with his mind satisfied; yathÄ - just as; Ägatam - he had come.
ÅšrÄ«la ÅšrÄ«dhara SvÄmÄ« gives evidence from ÅšrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam that the brÄhmaṇa avadhÅ«ta was actually the incarnation of Godhead DattÄtreya. The BhÄgavatam (2.7.4) states:
yat-pÄda-paá¹…kaja-parÄga-pavitra-dehÄ
yogardhim Äpur ubhayīṠyadu-haihayÄdyÄḥ
“Many Yadus, Haihayas, etc., became so purified, by the grace of the lotus feet of DattÄtreya, the Lord, that they obtained both material and spiritual blessings.†This verse mentions that Yadu was purified by contact with the lotus feet of DattÄtreya, and similarly the present verse states, vandito sv-arcito rÄjñÄ: King Yadu worshiped the lotus feet of the brÄhmaṇa. Thus, according to ÅšrÄ«la ÅšrÄ«dhara SvÄmÄ«, the avadhÅ«ta brÄhmaṇa is the Personality of Godhead Himself, and this is confirmed by ÅšrÄ«la ViÅ›vanÄtha CakravartÄ« ṬhÄkura.
