yogeÅ›varÄnuvá¹›ttyÄ vÄ
hanyÄd aÅ›ubha-dÄn Å›anaiḥ
kÄmÅ›cit - some; mama - of Me; anudhyÄnena - by constant thought; nÄma - of the holy names; saá¹…kīṛtana - by the loud chanting; Ädibhiḥ - and so on; yoga-īśvara - of the great masters of yoga; anuvá¹›ttyÄ - by following in the footsteps; vÄ - or; hanyÄt - may be destroyed; aÅ›ubha-dÄn - (the obstructions) that create inauspicious situations; Å›anaiḥ - gradually.
According to ÅšrÄ«la ÅšrÄ«dhara SvÄmÄ«, by meditation on the Supreme Lord one can overcome lust and other mental disturbances, and by following in the footsteps of great transcendentalists one can overcome hypocrisy, false pride and other types of mental imbalance.
