 kasmÄt - why; saá¹…kliÅ›yate - suffers; vidvÄn - one who is wise; vyarthayÄ - vain; artha-Ä«hayÄ - in the pursuit of wealth; asaká¹›t - constantly; kasyacit - of someone; mÄyayÄ - by the illusory potency; nÅ«nam - certainly; lokaḥ - the world; ayam - this; su-vimohitaḥ - very much bewildered.

Why must an intelligent man suffer by his constant vain efforts to get wealth? Indeed, this whole world is most bewildered by someone’s illusory potency.
