satyasyartasya tejasaḥ
parÄyaṇaá¹ dvija-Å›reá¹£á¹hÄḥ
śriyaḥ kīrter damasya ca
aham - I; yogasya - of the yoga system; sÄá¹…khyasya - of the system of analytic philosophy; satyasya - of virtuous action; á¹›tasya - of truthful religious principles; tejasaḥ - of power; para-ayanam - the ultimate shelter; dvija-Å›reá¹£á¹hÄḥ - O best of the brÄhmaṇas; Å›riyaḥ - of beauty; kÄ«rteḥ - of fame; damasya - of self-control; ca - also.
According to ÅšrÄ«la ÅšrÄ«dhara SvÄmÄ«, the synonymous words satyasya and á¹›tasya refer to, respectively, the proper or virtuous execution of religious principles and a convincing presentation of religion. ÅšrÄ«la ViÅ›vanÄtha CakravartÄ« ṬhÄkura points out that the sons of BrahmÄ were struck with wonder at the presentation of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and were thinking, “What wonderful knowledge we have just heard.†The Lord, recognizing their astonishment, spoke this verse to confirm their understanding of Him.
