Å›rÄ«-bhagavÄn uvÄca
Å›Äkuneya bhavÄn vyaktaá¹
Å›rÄntaḥ kiá¹ dÅ«ram Ägataḥ
ká¹£aṇaá¹ viÅ›ramyatÄá¹ puá¹sa
ÄtmÄyaá¹ sarva-kÄma-dhuk
Å›rÄ«-bhagavÄn uvÄca - the Supreme Lord said; Å›Äkuneya - O son of Åšakuni; bhavÄn - you; vyaktam - evidently; Å›rÄntaḥ - are fatigued; kim - for what reason; dÅ«ram - far; Ägataḥ - have come; ká¹£aṇam - for a minute; viÅ›ramyatÄm - please rest; puá¹saḥ - of a person; ÄtmÄ - body; ayam - this; sarva - all; kÄma - desires; dhuk - bestowing like a cow's milk.
The Supreme Lord said: My dear son of Śakuni, you appear tired. Why have you come such a great distance? Please rest for a minute. After all, it is one’s body that fulfills all one’s desires.
In Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, ÅšrÄ«la PrabhupÄda comments: “Before the demon could argue that he had no time to take rest, the Lord began to inform him about the importance of the body, and the demon was convinced. Any man, especially a demon, takes his body to be very important.â€
