vÄ«ká¹£ya tat kadanaá¹ svÄnÄá¹
nirūpya pura-rakṣaṇam
saubhaá¹ ca Å›Älva-rÄjaá¹ ca
dÄrukaá¹ prÄha keÅ›avaḥ
vÄ«ká¹£ya - seeing; tat - that; kadanam - destruction; svÄnÄm - of His own men; nirÅ«pya - arranging; pura - of the city; raká¹£aṇam - for protection; saubham - the vehicle Saubha; ca - and; Å›Älva-rÄjam - the King of the ÅšÄlva province; ca - and; dÄrukam - to DÄruka, His chariot driver; prÄha - spoke; keÅ›avaḥ - Lord Kṛṣṇa.
Lord Kṛṣṇa placed ÅšrÄ« BalarÄma in a strategic position to guard the city, and He also appointed a special guard for ÅšrÄ« Rukmiṇī and the other queens inside the palaces. According to ÅšrÄ«la ViÅ›vanÄtha CakravartÄ«, by a secret route special soldiers conveyed the queens to safety inside DvÄrakÄ.
