vÄ«ká¹£ya tat kadanaá¹ svÄnÄá¹
nirūpya pura-rakṣaṇam
saubhaá¹ ca Å›Älva-rÄjaá¹ ca
dÄrukaá¹ prÄha keÅ›avaḥ
vÄ«ká¹£ya - seeing; tat - that; kadanam - destruction; svÄnÄm - of His own men; nirÅ«pya - arranging; pura - of the city; raká¹£aṇam - for protection; saubham - the vehicle Saubha; ca - and; Å›Älva-rÄjam - the King of the ÅšÄlva province; ca - and; dÄrukam - to DÄruka, His chariot driver; prÄha - spoke; keÅ›avaḥ - Lord Kṛṣṇa.
[Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« continued:] After He arrived at DvÄrakÄ and saw how His people were threatened with destruction, and also saw ÅšÄlva and his Saubha airship, Lord KeÅ›ava arranged for the city’s defense and then addressed DÄruka as follows.
Lord Kṛṣṇa placed ÅšrÄ« BalarÄma in a strategic position to guard the city, and He also appointed a special guard for ÅšrÄ« Rukmiṇī and the other queens inside the palaces. According to ÅšrÄ«la ViÅ›vanÄtha CakravartÄ«, by a secret route special soldiers conveyed the queens to safety inside DvÄrakÄ.
