niśamya vipriyaṠkṛṣṇo
mÄnusīṠpraká¹›tiá¹ gataḥ
vimanasko ghṛṇī snehÄd
babhÄá¹£e prÄká¹›to yathÄ

 niÅ›amya - hearing; vipriyam - disturbing words; kṛṣṇaḥ - Lord Kṛṣṇa; mÄnuṣīm - humanlike; praká¹›tim - a nature; gataḥ - having assumed; vimanaskaḥ - unhappy; ghṛṇī - compassionate; snehÄt - out of love; babhÄá¹£e - He spoke; prÄká¹›taḥ - an ordinary person; yathÄ - like.

When He heard this disturbing news, Lord Kṛṣṇa, who was playing the role of a mortal man, showed sorrow and compassion, and out of love for His parents He spoke the following words like an ordinary conditioned soul.
