dakᚣiáša-agnim - to the Dakᚣiáša fire; paricara - you should render service; brÄhmaášaiḼ - brÄhmaášas; samam - together with; áštvijam - the original priest; abhicÄra-vidhÄnena - with the ritual known as abhicÄra (meant for killing or otherwise harming an enemy); saḼ - that; ca - and; agniḼ - fire; pramathaiḼ - by the Pramathas (powerful mystics who are in Lord Ĺiva's retinue and who assume many different forms); váštaḼ - surrounded; sÄdhayiᚣyati - it will accomplish; saáš kalpam - your intention; abrahmaášye - against one who is inimical to brÄhmaášas; prayojitaḼ - utilized; iti - so; ÄdiᚣášaḼ - instructed; tathÄ - in that way; cakre - he did; kášášŁášÄya - against Lord KášášŁáša; abhicaran - intending to do harm; vratÄŤ - observing the required vows.
It is clearly stated here that the powerful DakᚣiášÄgni fire could be directed only against someone unfavorable to brahminical culture. Lord KášášŁáša, however, is most favorable to the brÄhmaášas and in fact maintains the brahminical culture. Lord Ĺiva thus knew that if Sudakᚣiáša attempted to direct the power of this ritual against Lord KášášŁáša, Sudakᚣiáša himself would perish.
