papraccha vidvÄn api tan-nidÄnaá¹
janeá¹£u vikhyÄpayituá¹ mukundaḥ
kas tvaá¹ mahÄ-bhÄga vareṇya-rÅ«po
devottamaá¹ tvÄá¹ gaṇayÄmi nÅ«nam

 papraccha - He asked; vidvÄn - well aware; api - although; tat - of this; nidÄnam - the cause; janeá¹£u - among people in general; vikhyÄpayitum - to make it known; mukundaḥ - Lord Kṛṣṇa; kaḥ - who; tvam - you; mahÄ-bhÄga - O fortunate one; vareṇya - excellent; rÅ«paḥ - whose form; deva-uttamam - an exalted demigod; tvÄm - You; gaṇayÄmi - I should consider; nÅ«nam - certainly.

Lord Kṛṣṇa understood the situation, but to inform people in general He inquired as follows: “Who are you, O greatly fortunate one? Seeing your excellent form, I think you must surely be an exalted demigod.
