bÄhuá¹£u chidyamÄneá¹£u
bÄṇasya bhagavÄn bhavaḥ
bhaktÄnakampy upavrajya
cakrÄyudham abhÄá¹£ata

 bÄhuá¹£u - the arms; chidyamÄneá¹£u - as they were being severed; bÄṇasya - of BÄṇÄsura; bhagavÄn bhavaḥ - the great Lord Åšiva; bhakta - toward his devotee; anukampÄ« - compassionate; upavrajya - approaching; cakra-Äyudham - to Lord Kṛṣṇa, wielder of the disc weapon; abhÄá¹£ata - he spoke.

Lord Åšiva felt compassion for his devotee BÄṇÄsura, whose arms were being cut off, and thus he approached Lord CakrÄyudha [Kṛṣṇa] and spoke to Him as follows.
