 teá¹£Äm - of them; vÄ«rya - with their power; mada - by the intoxication; andhÄnÄm - blinded; dá¹›ptÄnÄm - proud; smaya - the arrogance; nuttaye - to dispel; ÄnitÄ asi - you were taken in marriage; mayÄ - by Me; bhadre - good woman; tejaḥ - the strength; upaharatÄ - removing; asatÄm - of the wicked.

It was to dispel the arrogance of these kings that I carried you away, My good woman, for they were blinded by the intoxication of power. My purpose was to curb the strength of the wicked.
