tasya - of him (BhaumÄsura); Ätma-jaḥ - son; ayam - this; tava - Your; pÄda - feet; paá¹…kajam - lotuslike; bhÄ«taḥ - afraid; prapanna - of those who take shelter; Ärti - the distress; hara - O You who remove; upasÄditaḥ - has approached; tat - therefore; pÄlaya - please protect; enam - him; kuru - place; hasta-paá¹…kajam - Your lotus hand; Å›irasi - on the head; amuá¹£ya - his; akhila - all; kalmaá¹£a - sins; apaham - which eradicates.
Here the earth-goddess seeks protection for her grandson, who has been frightened by all the terribly violent events that just took place.
