karabhÄ Å«ravo 'á¹…ghrayaḥ

hastÄḥ - hands; sa - with; asi - swords; gadÄ - clubs; iá¹£u-ÄsÄḥ - bows; karabhÄḥ - fingerless hands; Å«ravaḥ - thighs; aá¹…ghrayaḥ - legs; aÅ›va - of horses; aÅ›vatara - donkeys; nÄga - elephants; uá¹£á¹ra - camels; khara - wild asses; martya - and humans; Å›irÄá¹si - heads; ca - also.
KarabhÄḥ indicates the portion of the hand from the wrist to the base of the fingers. The same word may also indicate an elephant’s trunk, and thus in this verse the implication is that the thighs lying on the battlefield resembled the trunks of elephants.
