 tataḥ - then; rathÄt - from his chariot; avaplutya - leaping down; khaá¸ga - a sword; paṇiḥ - in his hand; jighÄá¹sayÄ - with the desire to kill; kṛṣṇam - Lord Kṛṣṇa; abhyadravat - he ran toward; kruddhaḥ - furious; pataá¹…gaḥ - a bird; iva - as; pÄvakam - the wind.

Then Rukmī leaped down from his chariot and, sword in hand, rushed furiously toward Kṛṣṇa to kill Him, like a bird flying into the wind.
