sa cÄÅ›vaiḥ Å›aibya-sugrÄ«va-
meghapuá¹£pa-balÄhakaiḥ
yuktaá¹ ratham upÄnÄ«ya
tasthau prÄñjalir agrataḥ
saḥ - he, DÄruka; ca - and; aÅ›vaiḥ - with the horses; Å›aibya-sugrÄ«va-meghapuá¹£pa-balÄhakaiḥ - named Åšaibya, SugrÄ«va, Meghapuá¹£pa and BalÄhaka; yuktam - yoked; ratham - the chariot; upÄnÄ«ya - bringing; tasthau - stood; prÄñjaliḥ - with palms joined in reverence; agrataḥ - in front.
DÄruka brought the Lord’s chariot, yoked with the horses named Åšaibya, SugrÄ«va, Meghapuá¹£pa and BalÄhaka. He then stood before Lord Kṛṣṇa with joined palms.
ÅšrÄ«la ViÅ›vanÄtha CakravartÄ« quotes the following text of the Padma PurÄṇa describing Lord Kṛṣṇa’s chariot horses:
Å›aibyas tu Å›uka-patrÄbhaḥ
sugrīvo hema-piṅgalaḥ
meghapuá¹£pas tu meghÄbhaḥ
pÄṇá¸uro hi balÄhakaḥ
“Śaibya was green like a parrot’s wings, SugrÄ«va yellow-gold, Meghapuá¹£pa the color of a cloud, and BalÄhaka whitish.â€
