Å›rÄ«-uddhava uvÄca
yuvÄá¹ Å›lÄghyatamau nÅ«naá¹
dehinÄm iha mÄna-da
nÄrÄyaṇe 'khila-gurau
yat ká¹›tÄ matir Ä«dṛśī
Å›rÄ«-uddhavaḥ uvÄca - ÅšrÄ« Uddhava said; yuvÄm - you two; Å›lÄghyatamau - the most praiseworthy; nÅ«nam - for certain; dehinÄm - of embodied living beings; iha - in this world; mana-da - O respectful one; nÄrÄyaṇe - for the Supreme Lord NÄrÄyaṇa; akhila-gurau - the spiritual master of all; yat - because; ká¹›tÄ - produced; matiḥ - a mentality; Ä«dṛśī - like this.
ÅšrÄ« Uddhava said: O respectful Nanda, certainly you and mother YaÅ›odÄ are the most praiseworthy persons in the entire world, since you have developed such a loving attitude toward Lord NÄrÄyaṇa, the spiritual master of all living beings.
Understanding Nanda’s mood, as expressed by his statement manye kṛṣṇaá¹ ca rÄmaá¹ ca prÄptÄv iha surottamau (“I think Kṛṣṇa and RÄma must be two exalted demigodsâ€), Uddhava here referred to Kṛṣṇa as Lord NÄrÄyaṇa.
