tam Äha bhagavÄn preṣṭhaá¹
bhaktam ekÄntinaá¹ kvacit
gá¹›hÄ«tvÄ pÄṇinÄ pÄṇiá¹
prapannÄrti-haro hariḥ

 tam - to him; Äha - spoke; bhagavÄn - the Supreme Lord; preṣṭham - to His most dear; bhaktam - devotee; ekÄntinam - exclusive; kvacit - on one occasion; gá¹›hÄ«tvÄ - taking; pÄṇinÄ - with His hand; pÄṇim - (Uddhava's) hand; prapanna - of those who surrender; Ärti - the distress; haraḥ - who takes away; hariḥ - Lord Hari.

The Supreme Lord Hari, who relieves the distress of all who surrender to Him, once took the hand of His fully devoted, dearmost friend Uddhava and addressed him as follows.
