tat ká¹£antum arhathas tÄta
mÄtar nau para-tantrayoḥ
akurvator vÄá¹ Å›uÅ›rūṣÄá¹
kliá¹£á¹ayor durhá¹›dÄ bhṛśam
tat - that; ká¹£antum - forgive; arhathaḥ - you may please; tÄta - O Father; mÄtaḥ - 0 Mother; nau - on the part of Us; para-tantrayoḥ - who are under the control of others; akurvatoḥ - not executing; vÄm - your; Å›uÅ›rūṣÄm - service; kliá¹£á¹ayoḥ - caused pain; durhá¹›dÄ - by the hardhearted (Kaá¹sa); bhṛśam - greatly.
According to Sanskrit grammar, the words para-tantrayoḥ and kliá¹£á¹ayoḥ may also refer to Vasudeva and DevakÄ«. Actually, Vasudeva and DevakÄ« were under the control of Providence and were disturbed by the activities of Kaá¹sa, whereas ÅšrÄ« Kṛṣṇa is always the absolute Personality of Godhead.
