saáš kruddhas tam acakᚣÄášo
ghrÄáša-dášášŁášiḼ sa keĹavam
parÄmášĹat puᚣkareáša
sa prasahya vinirgataḼ
saáš kruddhaḼ - infuriated; tam - Him; acakᚣÄášaḼ - not seeing; ghrÄáša - by his sense of smell; dášášŁášiḼ - whose vision; saḼ - he, the elephant; keĹavam - Lord KeĹava; parÄmášĹat - took hold of; puᚣkareáša - with the end of his trunk; saḼ - He, KášášŁáša; prasahya - by force; vinirgataḼ - came free.
Lord KášášŁáša allowed the elephant to seize Him so that the beast would be encouraged to keep fighting. Once KuvalayÄpÄŤá¸a had thus become proud, Lord KášášŁáša again thwarted him with His superior potency.
