stuvatas tasya bhagavÄn
darÅ›ayitvÄ jale vapuḥ
bhÅ«yaḥ samÄharat kṛṣṇo
naá¹­o nÄá¹­yam ivÄtmanaḥ

 Å›rÄ«-Å›ukaḥ uvÄca - Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« said; stuvataḥ - while praying; tasya - he, AkrÅ«ra; bhagavÄn - the Supreme Lord; darÅ›ayitvÄ - having shown; jale - in the water; vapuḥ - His personal form; bhÅ«yaḥ - again; samÄharat - withdrew; kṛṣṇaḥ - ÅšrÄ« Kṛṣṇa; naá¹­aḥ - an actor; nÄá¹­yam - the performance; iva - as; Ätmanaḥ - his own.


Text

Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« said: While AkrÅ«ra was still offering prayers, the Supreme Lord Kṛṣṇa withdrew His form that He had revealed in the water, just as an actor winds up his performance.

Purport

Lord Kṛṣṇa withdrew from Akrūra’s sight the Viṣṇu form along with the vision of the spiritual sky and its eternal inhabitants.
