punaḥ pulinam Ägatya
kÄlindyÄḥ kṛṣṇa-bhÄvanÄḥ
samavetÄ jaguḥ kṛṣṇaá¹
tad-Ägamana-kÄá¹…ká¹£itÄḥ
punaḥ - again; pulinam - to the bank; Ägatya - coming; kÄlindyÄḥ - of the river YamunÄ; kṛṣṇa-bhÄvanÄḥ - meditating on Kṛṣṇa; samavetÄḥ - joined together; jaguḥ - they sang; kṛṣṇam - about Kṛṣṇa; tat-Ägamana - His arrival; kÄá¹…ká¹£itÄḥ - eagerly desired.
As stated in the Kaá¹ha Upaniá¹£ad (1.2.23), yam evaiá¹£a vṛṇute tena labhyaḥ: “The Supersoul can be realized by that person whom He chooses.†Thus the gopÄ«s fervently pray that Kṛṣṇa come back to them.
