rohiṇī putra-vatsalÄm
na upeyÄtÄm - would not return home; yadÄ - when; ÄhÅ«tau - They were called back from playing; krÄ«á¸Ä-saá¹…gena - because of so much attachment to playing with other boys; putrakau - the two sons (Kṛṣṇa and BalarÄma); yaÅ›odÄm preá¹£ayÄm Äsa - sent mother YaÅ›odÄ to call Them; rohiṇī - mother Rohiṇī; putra-vatsalÄm - because mother YaÅ›odÄ was a more affectionate mother to Kṛṣṇa and BalarÄma.
YaÅ›odÄá¹ preá¹£ayÄm Äsa. These very words show that since Kṛṣṇa and BalarÄma did not care to return in response to the order of Rohiṇī, Rohiṇī thought that if YaÅ›odÄ called They would have to return, for YaÅ›odÄ was more affectionate to Kṛṣṇa and BalarÄma.
