'dÄna-keli-kaumudÄ«' Ädi laká¹£a-grantha kaila
sei saba granthe vrajera rasa vicÄrila
dÄna-keli-kaumudÄ« - the book named DÄna-keli-kaumudÄ«; Ädi - beginning with; laká¹£a - 100,000; grantha - verses; kaila - compiled; sei - those; saba - all; granthe - in scriptures; vrajera - of Vá¹›ndÄvana; rasa vicÄrila - elaborately explained the transcendental mellows.
Referring to the words laká¹£a-grantha (“100,000 versesâ€), ÅšrÄ«la BhaktisiddhÄnta SarasvatÄ« ṬhÄkura says that the total number of verses written by ÅšrÄ«la RÅ«pa GosvÄmÄ« is 100,000 (eka-laká¹£a or laká¹£a-grantha). The copyists count both the verses and the prose sections of the Sanskrit works. One should not mistakenly think that ÅšrÄ«la RÅ«pa GosvÄmÄ« compiled 100,000 books. He actually wrote sixteen books, as mentioned in the First Wave of the Bhakti-ratnÄkara (Å›rÄ«-rÅ«pa-gosvÄmÄ« grantha á¹£oá¸aÅ›a karila).
