kaá¹…kaṇa-dhvani caá¹­ake lÄjÄya
eka-bÄra yei Å›une, vyÄpi rahe' tÄra kÄṇe,
anya Å›abda se-kÄṇe nÄ yÄya

 nÅ«pura - of the ankle bells; kiá¹…kiṇī - tinkling; dhvani - the sound; haá¹sa - swans; sÄrasa - cranes; jini' - conquering; kaá¹…kaṇa-dhvani - the sound of bangles; caá¹­ake - the caá¹­aka bird; lÄjÄya - puts to shame; eka-bÄra - once; yei - one who; Å›une - hears; vyÄpi - expanding; rahe' - remains; tÄra kÄṇe - in his ear; anya - other; Å›abda - sound; se-kÄṇe - in that ear; nÄ yÄya - does not go.

“The tinkling of Kṛṣṇa’s ankle bells surpasses the songs of even the swan and crane, and the sound of His bangles puts the singing of the caṭaka bird to shame. Having allowed these sounds to enter the ears even once, one cannot tolerate hearing anything else.
