 harau - toward the Supreme Personality of Godhead; ratim - affection; vahan - carrying; eá¹£aḥ - this one; nara-indrÄṇÄm - of all the kings; Å›ikhÄ-maṇiḥ - brilliant crown jewel; bhiká¹£Äm - begging alms; aá¹­an - wandering for; ari-pure - even in the city of enemies; Å›va-pÄkam - the fifth-grade caṇá¸Älas; api - even; vandate - worships.

“ ‘King BhagÄ«ratha always carried affection for Kṛṣṇa within his heart. Although King BhagÄ«ratha was the crown jewel of kings, he was still wandering about and begging alms in the city of his enemies. He was even offering respects to caṇá¸Älas, low-class men who eat dogs.’
