tat-tad-bhÄvÄdi-mÄdhurye
śrute dhīr yad apekṣate
nÄtra Å›Ästraá¹ na yuktiá¹ ca
tal lobhotpatti-lakṣaṇam
tat-tat - respective; bhÄva-Ädi-mÄdhurye - the sweetness of the loving moods (namely Å›Änta-rasa, dÄsya-rasa, sakhya-rasa, vÄtsalya-rasa and mÄdhurya-rasa) of the inhabitants of Vá¹›ndÄvana; Å›rute - when heard; dhīḥ - the intelligence; yat - which; apeká¹£ate - depends on; na - not; atra - here; Å›Ästram - revealed scriptures; na - not; yuktim - logic and argument; ca - also; tat - that; lobha - of covetousness to follow in the footsteps; utpatti-laká¹£aṇam - the symptom of awakening.
