A puraÅ›caraṇa is a ritualistic ceremony performed under the guidance of an expert spiritual master or a brÄhmaṇa. It is performed for the fulfillment of certain desires. One rises early in the morning, chants the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra, performs arcana by the Ärati ceremony and worships the Deities. These activities are described in Madhya-lÄ«lÄ, fifteenth chapter, verse 108.
