Purport

The village named AnnakÅ«á¹a-grÄma is referred to in the Bhakti-ratnÄkara (Fifth Wave):

gopa-gopÄ« bhuñjÄyena kautuka apÄra
ei hetu ‘Äniyora’ nÄma se ihÄra
annakÅ«á¹a-sthÄna ei dekha Å›rÄ«nivÄsa
e-sthÄna darÅ›ane haya pÅ«rṇa abhilÄá¹£a

“Here all the gopÄ«s and the gopas enjoyed wonderful pastimes with ÅšrÄ« Kṛṣṇa. Therefore this place is also called Ä€niyora. The AnnakÅ«á¹a ceremony was celebrated here. O ÅšrÄ«nivÄsa, whoever sees this place has all his desires fulfilled.†It is also stated:

kuṇá¸era nikaá¹a dekha niviá¸a-kÄnana
ethÄi ‘gopÄla’ chilÄ haÃ±Ä saá¹…gopana

“Look at the dense forest near the kuṇá¸a. It was there that GopÄla was concealed.†Also, the StavÄvalÄ« (Vraja-vilÄsa-stava 75), by RaghunÄtha dÄsa GosvÄmÄ«, states:

vrajendra-varyÄrpita-bhogam uccair
 dhá¹›tvÄ bá¹›hat-kÄyam aghÄrir utkaḥ
vareṇa rÄdhÄá¹ chalayan vibhuá¹…kte
 yatrÄnna-kÅ«á¹aá¹ tad ahaá¹ prapadye

“When Nanda MahÄrÄja offered a large quantity of food to Govardhana Hill, Kṛṣṇa assumed a gigantic form and eagerly invited everyone to ask boons from Him. Then, deceiving even ÅšrÄ«matÄ« RÄdhÄrÄṇī, He ate all the offered food. Let me take shelter of the place known as AnnakÅ«á¹a, where Lord Kṛṣṇa enjoyed these pastimes.â€
