Purport

When one takes ká¹£etra-sannyÄsa, he leaves his household life and goes to a place of pilgrimage devoted to Lord Viṣṇu. Such places include Puruá¹£ottama (JagannÄtha PurÄ«), NavadvÄ«pa-dhÄma and MathurÄ-dhÄma. The ká¹£etra-sannyÄsÄ« lives in these places alone or with his family. ÅšrÄ«la Bhaktivinoda ṬhÄkura considers ká¹£etra-sannyÄsa to be the preferable vÄnaprastha situation in this Age of Kali. SÄrvabhauma Bhaá¹á¹ÄcÄrya lived in this way, and he has been called a ká¹£etra-sannyÄsÄ« — that is, a sannyÄsÄ« living in JagannÄtha PurÄ«.
