MahÄrÄja PratÄparudra continued, “If ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu is determined not to see me, then I am determined to give up my life if I do not see Him.

A devotee with MahÄrÄja PratÄparudra’s determination will certainly be victorious in advancing in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. ÅšrÄ« Kṛṣṇa confirms this in the Bhagavad-gÄ«tÄ (9.14):

satataá¹ kÄ«rtayanto mÄá¹ yatantaÅ› ca dá¹›á¸ha-vratÄḥ
namasyantaÅ› ca mÄá¹ bhaktyÄ nitya-yuktÄ upÄsate

“Always chanting My glories, endeavoring with great determination, bowing down before Me, these great souls perpetually worship Me with devotion.â€

These are the symptoms of a mahÄtmÄ engaged in the Lord’s service in full Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Thus MahÄrÄja PratÄparudra’s determination is very much exalted and is called dá¹›á¸ha-vrata. Because of this determination, he was finally able to receive Lord Caitanya’s direct mercy.
