ei-mata vaiṣṇava kÄre kichu nÄ mÄgiba
ayÄcita-vá¹›tti, kiá¹vÄ Å›Äka-phala khÄiba

 ei-mata - in this way; vaiṣṇava - a devotee; kÄre - from anyone; kichu - anything;  - not; mÄgiba - shall ask for; ayÄcita-vá¹›tti - the profession of not asking for anything; kiá¹vÄ - or; Å›Äka - vegetables; phala - fruits; khÄiba - shall eat.

“Thus a Vaiṣṇava should not ask anything from anyone else. If someone gives him something without being asked, he should accept it, but if nothing comes, a Vaiṣṇava should be satisfied to eat whatever vegetables and fruits are easily available.
