Å›ukla-kṛṣṇe gatÄ« hy ete jagataḥ Å›ÄÅ›vatemate ekayÄyÄtyanÄvá¹›ttim anyayÄvartate punaḥ [26]
ete–These;gatīśukla-kṛṣṇe–two paths, bright and dark; jagataḥ–of the world (where persons are apt to follow the paths of jñÄn and karma); mate–are considered;Å›ÄÅ›vateekayÄ–By one;anÄvá¹›ttim–liberation; yÄti–is attained; anyayÄ–by the other; punaḥ Ävartate–one returns, is reborn. [26]

These two paths of the world, the bright and the dark, are accepted as being perpetual. By the bright path liberation is attained, and by the dark path one is reborn.
