asaá¹yatÄtmanÄ yogo duá¹£prÄpa iti me matiḥ vaÅ›yÄtmanÄ tu yatatÄ Å›akyo ’vÄptum upÄyataḥ [36]

yogaḥ–Yoga; duá¹£prÄpaḥ–is difficult to attain; asaá¹yata-ÄtmanÄ–by a person of uncontrolled mind; iti–this is; me–My; matiḥ–opinion; tu– but; yatatÄ–one who strives; vaÅ›ya-ÄtmanÄ–to control the mind; upÄyataḥ–by the appropriate method of arduous practice (sÄdhana); avÄptum Å›akyaḥ–can attain to yoga. I consider that yoga is difficult to attain for the person of unrestrained mind. But one who strives to restrain the mind by the appropriate practice can succeed in yoga.
