(he) bharata-sattama–O best of the BhÄratas; śṛṇu–hear; me–My; niÅ›chayam–perfect conclusion; tatra tyÄge–concerning tyÄga, detachment, or the quality of renunciation; hi–since; (he) puruá¹£a-vyÄghra–O best of men; tyÄgaḥ–the quality of renunciation; samprakÄ«rtitaḥ–has been clearly described (in the scriptures); tri-vidhaḥ–to be of three types. O best of the BhÄratas, hear My perfect conclusion concerning detachment, the quality of renunciation, since, O best of men, it has been clearly established that the quality of renunciation is of three types.
