yat jñānam–That knowledge by which; vetti–one experiences; sarveṣu–within all; bhūteṣu–living beings; pṛthaktvena–separately; nānābhāvān–many natures; pṛthak-vidhān–engaged in many pursuits; viddhi–know; tat jñānaṁ tu–that knowledge; rājasam–to be of the nature of passion. [21]

That knowledge in which one experiences in the plane of living beings many separate (independent) entities engaged in many separate (clashing) pursuits is to be known as knowledge of the nature of passion.
