adhiṣṭhÄnaá¹ tathÄ kartÄ karaṇañ cha pá¹›thag-vidham vividhÄÅ› cha pá¹›thak cheá¹£á¹­Ä daivañ chaivÄtra pañchamam [14]

adhiṣṭÄnam–(1) The basis, the body; tathÄ–and; kartÄ–(2) the ‘doer’, the ego of the knot of spirit and matter; pá¹›thak-vidham–(3) the separate, various; karaṇam cha–senses—eyes, ears, etc., as the instrument; vividhÄḥ–(4) the various; pá¹›thak cha–and separate; cheṣṭÄ– endeavours or functions of the vital airs; atra pañchamam–and the fifth factor; daivam eva cha–(5) is the Divine, the Supersoul.
