oá¹-tat-sad iti nirdeÅ›o brahmaṇas tri-vidhaḥ smá¹›taḥ brÄhmaṇÄs tena vedÄÅ› cha yajñÄÅ› cha vihitÄḥ purÄ [23]
iti–These; tri-vidhaḥ–three words: om-tat-sat–Om Tat Sat; smá¹›taḥ–are known in the scriptures as; nirdeÅ›aḥ–indicating; brahmaṇaḥ– Brahma, the Supeme Spirit. purÄ–In ancient times, at the universal manifestation; brÄhmaṇÄḥ–the brÄhmaṇs; vedÄḥ cha–the Vedas; yajñÄḥ cha–and sacrifices; vihitÄḥ–were manifested; tena–by these three words.
