सीदन्त्या भूरिभारेण जातो ह्यात्मभुवार्थितः ॥३४॥
bhÄrÄvatÄraṇÄyÄnye
bhuvo nÄva ivodadhau
sÄ«dantyÄ bhÅ«ri-bhÄreṇa
jÄto hy Ätma-bhuvÄrthitaḥ
Others say that you appeared at the request of BrahmÄ for lifting up the earth which had sunk like a boat overloaded with weight.
Another opinion is that you appeared mainly because of Brahma’s request.
