gÄá¹ ca dharma-dughÄá¹ dÄ«nÄá¹
bhṛśaṠśūdra-padÄhatÄm
vivatsÄm ÄÅ›ru-vadanÄá¹
ká¹£ÄmÄá¹ yavasam icchatÄ«m
Dharma-dugham means giver of ghee for sacrifice. She (the earth) was without a calf (vivatsam) because the grains, the child of the earth, had been destroyed. She had tears in her eyes because of the destruction of dharma. She was thin (ksamam) because sacrifices were not performed. She desired the share of sacrifice (yavasam).
