evaḿ varān sa munaye

dattvāgāt try-akṣa īśvaraḥ

devyai tat-karma kathayann

anubhūtaḿ purāmunā

sutah uvaca -- Suta Gosvami said; evam -- in this way; varan -- benedictions; sah -- he; munaye -- to the sage; dattva -- giving; agat -- went; tri-akshah -- he who has three eyes; isvarah -- Lord Siva; devyai -- to goddess Parvati; tat-karma -- the activities of Markandeya; kathayan -- recounting; anubhutam -- what was experienced; pura -- before; amuna -- by him, Markandeya.

Suta Gosvami said: Having thus granted Markandeya Rishi benedictions, Lord Siva went on his way, continuing to describe to goddess Devi the accomplishments of the sage and the direct exhibition of the Lord's illusory power that he had experienced.
