ārya bhrātar ahaḿ manye

ātmānam akṛtāśiṣam

yad vā āpatsu mad-vārtāḿ

nānusmaratha sattamāḥ

kunti uvaca -- Queen Kunti said; arya -- O respectable one; bhratah -- O brother; aham -- I; manye -- think; atmanam -- myself; akrita -- having failed to achieve; asisham -- my desires; yat -- since; vai -- indeed; apatsu -- in times of danger; mat -- to me; vartam -- what occurred; na anusmaratha -- all of you do not remember; sat-tamah -- most saintly.
