patnīḿ vīkṣya visphurantīḿ
devīḿ vaimānikīm iva
dāsīnāḿ niṣka-kaṇṭhīnāḿ
madhye bhāntīḿ sa vismitaḥ
patnim -- his wife; vikshya -- seeing; visphurantim -- appearing effulgent; devim -- a demigoddess; vaimanikim -- come in a heavenly airplane; iva -- as if; dasinam -- of maidservants; nishka -- lockets; kanthinam -- on whose necks; madhye -- in the midst; bhantim -- shining; sah -- he; vismitah -- amazed.
Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti explains that up to now the Supreme Lord had kept the brahmana in his wretched state so that his wife could recognize him.
