sa tān ādāya viprāgryaḥ
prayayau dvārakāḿ kila
kṛṣṇa-sandarśanaḿ mahyaḿ
kathaḿ syād iti cintayan
sah -- he; tan -- them; adaya -- taking; vipra-agryah -- the best of brahmanas; prayayau -- went; dvarakam -- to Dvaraka; kila -- indeed; krishna-sandarsanam -- the audience of Lord Krishna; mahyam -- for me; katham -- how; syat -- will it happen; iti -- thus; cintayan -- thinking.
Taking the flat rice, the saintly brahmana set off for Dvaraka, all the while wondering "How will I be able to have Krishna's audience?"
Among other things, Sudama assumed that the gatekeepers would stop him.
